It is vital we realize that as Christians we have peace with God regardless of our feelings. This is difficult because contemporary culture - what C S Lewis called "the spirit of the age" - says that feelings are everything - reality is what you feel. Christians, more affected than we like to admit by the culture around us, tend to gauge our spiritual state by our feelings.
When we are feeling low or feeling ill, the tendency is to think there is something wrong with our relationship with God. But the fact is that while our feelings are significant, they have nothing to do with the reality of our standing with God. Your peace with God is positional truth, quite independent of the conditions in your life that affect your emotions. Your emotional condition is
influenced by many things-health, body cycles, diet, fatigue, crying babies and rebellious teenagers, loss of a loved one, loneliness-even the weather. None of these things can touch your position with God. They may make you feel alienated from Him but you are not. Remember, though you may lose the peace of God, your peace with God is an eternal covenant relationship-the enmity is forever erased. Your loving Heavenly Father is so close you can reach out and touch Him with a silent prayer. And that should help you regain your peace of God.Romans 5
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Awesome insight as so often we rely on how we feel... we know that isn't the truth but many times our feelings can be so misleading. The Lord IS our source of peace!
Love you!
