Help my laundry room!

This is the view when walking into my laundry room. Very bland with 2 ugly boxes on the wall. I spend WAY too much of my time browsing decorating blogs, but have yet to find the right inspiration. My only thought was to hang a curtain rod and drape, will that look silly?
So, any ideas for dressing up this yucky wall?

i'm thinking a shallow cabinet could cover both of those nicely - or the curtain idea sounds really nice - remember my closet dowell(sp?) trick if you need an extra long curtain rod.. also another idea is maybe painting the laundry room a nice warm or calming color - like a warm pumpkin spice or a soothing blue?? it will help with the over all feel right when you walk in - as guests we don't go in that way - we get the grand entrance and get to see your beautimous house right away! :)

You could always put a shutter in front of it. Maybe you could even use the shutters as a memo board or a place to dry sock's by hanging them with clothes pins... What are in those boxes? Can they be painted over? You could do so much to cover over them. Hope this may have helped... Susie H~

Thanks for the nice comments on my blog!

I think the shutters or curtain idea would be good. I wonder if you could use a canvas to make a bulletin board. (We have a bulletin board in the laundry room, which I like for kids' art work.) Or maybe somehow a shelf with things strategically propped on it to hide a box. It is hard since they are stacked vertically on the wall.

Here are the ideas I was talking about...of course from Nesting Place!

I think a drape might just work...can you include a larger photo of the whole wall?

I've enjoyed checking out your blog.
