On a trip to the beach, we acquired a few mildew stains. It must something in the water there, because I've only had this happen once or twice over the past 2 years. One of each of the kids' outfits were stained. I bleached to no avail. Does anything take out mildew? I've almost resigned myself to throwing away these clothes, but what about food stains.
What's the best stain remover? Please post comments to help me out!
*UPDATE*
I tried Oxi for laundry because it was in my cabinet. Lifted a little, some stains still there. I'm going to try some of the others when I get to the store to buy them. Thanks!
**I treated the stains (mildew in particular) with the Oxi Clean 3 or 4 times and it has taken care of it. I just needed to be persistent!

ok.. girl - i gotcha covered! :) Finazzle (yes same brand as the grout cleaner you recommended to me). I use their Enzyme Based Laundry Stain Remover in combination with their Aniotic Stain Remover - (only if the stain is super stubborn. I have never had a stain that this stuff didn't beat - now sometimes i have to spray it a few times over a couple of days - but nevertheless, it works for the food stains... not sure on the mildew (i haven't come across that one yet). oh and i buy this stuff online and by the case... i get more enzyme stuff than the aniotic stuff because I use it more - AUDREY IS SUCH A MESSY EATER! :) this is what they said:
Finazzle Enzyme-Based Laundry Stain Remover effectively removes organic stains by actually digesting the protein, carbohydrate and fat molecule chains with active enzymes. Because the enzymes need time to do their job, this product should be applied about 30 minutes before washing.
Finazzle Anionic Laundry Stain Remover with Hydrogen Peroxide is a great follow-up because it actually oxidizes or "Shrinks" the individual molecules, but should be used only after the enzyme formulation has had time to work and just before laundering.
I need to try the Finazzle.
I am a big fan of BabyOxi. I found that it removes even the toughest of infant baby poop stains as well as food stains. I spray, soak, wash.
i need some finazzle!! I am a huge fan of "Incredible" - you can find it at Bed Bath & Beyond....its our best family secret!
We use OxiClean a lot and for tough stains we have used De-Solv-it and Goof off. They also can be used to get crayon/oil/gum/grease etc. off of hard surfaces.
We also had to through away a pair of white shorts that were in a WalMart bag that got misplaced. Bad mildew stain!! I didn't even try.
Good luck!
